At the end of the first half, it’s Ghana 1 USA 0 and deservedly so. The Africans have been dominant in possession and have closed down the Americans very effectively.
Kevin Prince-Boateng scored for Ghana with a low, left footed drive after a mistake by the Americans allowed Ghana to win the ball in the Americans half. An early substitution by Bob Bradley signified the Americans need to add some steel in the middle of the pitch. The substitution worked as the Americans started gaining more possession of the ball and made some good shots with Findley coming close in the 35th minute in a one-on-one with the keeper.
